Indicators for TBI Referral
Loss of memory for events immediately before or after the accident
Alteration in mental state at the time of the accident, i.e., feeling dazed, disorientated or confused
Decreased level of functioning at home, work, or school
A period of loss of consciousness at the time of injury
Failure to return to work 4 to 6 weeks following injury
Worsening of symptoms without physical basis
Reports of confusion or memory problems
Reluctance or inability to resume driving
Deterioration in ability to concentrate*
Reports or evidence of anxiety*
History of previous head injury
Disordered sleep*
Delayed recovery
Depression*
Irritability*
Headache*
Fatigue*
